SOUTH PACIFIC GAMES SUVA 2003
PATARA was appointed Official Supplier to the 2003 SPG and tasked with the design, supply, implementation and support of the Information Technology requirements for the Games. This included the IT hardware and network systems and presented itself as an unique project with intensive 24/7 support for a varied group of users over various locations during the Games. Technologies used included high-speed (44Mbps) wireless networking, Gigabit Ethernet (over fibre and copper cable), Voice-over-IP (VoIP), ISDN, off-shore (Melbourne, Australia) database connectivity with real-time updates over the internet, VPN, and remote system control and management. >> read more

FINTEL UPS SYSTEM
PATARA supplied and commissioned a centralised 120kVA Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) for FINTEL’s Vatuwaqa Communications Centre. FINTEL is Fiji’s International Telecommunications Provider and operates a Satellite Earth Station and the Southern Cross Cable landing in Fiji, providing all international voice and data connectivity from Fiji. The project included coming up with a strategy and implementation plan to replace an existing UPS without affecting the equipment connected to it and maintaining system integrity. This is the second centralised UPS supplied by PATARA to FINTEL, the first being a 50kVA unit for the FINTEL Head Office.

FIJI SUGAR CORPORATION NETWORK UPGRADE
PATARA have been appointed Consultants to the FSC Communications Infrastructure upgrade. This includes auditing the existing network, designing new network infrastructure for each Mill, and then implementing the new infrastructure.

COCA-COLA AMATIL FIJI NETWORK
Design, supply and implementation of Fibre Optic Backbone, upgrade of Network Switching Equipment and centralised UPS System.

TUVALU ISP
Supply of enabling technology to set up Tuvalu’s Internet Service Provider (including centralised UPS) and subsequent design assistance and supply of equipment to establish the Pacific's first commercial wireless ISP

SOUTH PACIFIC REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMME (SPREP)
Design and supply of the Pacific’s first (July 2000) fully Gigabit Ethernet Fibre Backbone and Switching Equipment to link 6 buildings, and addition of 2 new buildings in 2002 (total 8 buildings) in Apia, Samoa
