Power Distribution Unit

FlexPDU
Having the right connectors just where you need them. FlexPDUs (Power Distribution Units) are flexible mounting multiway socket blocks for easy connection of multiple loads or either free-standing or rack-mounted UPSs.
FlexPDUs have a large number of sockets (8 French or Schuko sockets, 6 BS sockets or 12 IEC 10A sockets) which fit into a very compact unit (1U - 19"). FlexPDUs are easy to implement into any type of installation: they can be rack mounted horizontally (1U) or vertically or directly onto all MGE RT format (rack/tower) UPSs.

Comet PDU
Socket blocks for single phase UPS' with output terminal blocks. Comet PDUs (Power Distribution Units) make it easy to connect equipment to single phase UPSs with output terminal blocks (Comet EX RT, etc). Comet PDU Power Distribution Units contain 8 IEC 10A and 4 IEC 16A sockets on a 2U rack-mounting module. All the outputs have retaining clips for high reliable connections

Hot Swap MBP
High availability for all UPSs up to 3 kVA. HotSwap MBP provides a maintenance bypass for all UPSs up to 3 kVA: UPSs can be hot swapped or upgrade without interrupting the power supply. HotSwap MBP has an IEC16A input connector with retaining clip for compatibility with any UPS now and in the future from MGE UPS SYSTEMS or any other supplier.
There is a range of HotSwap MBP units with different output connectors:
- French, Schuko, British and IEC sockets
- terminal blocks on the HW (Hard-Wired) version
HotSwap MBP units can be installed as required; at the back, side, top of the UPSs, or rack-mounted (horizontally (1.5U) or vertically).

Intelligent PDU
High availability
Input Current monitoring of the connected equipment in the rack cabinet can significantly enhance IT & network equipment uptime. Each Intelligent PDU includes a digital display indicator for local, real-time reading of the aggregate current used by the connected devices. NM (Network-Managed) versions add remote in-band or out-of-band supervision.
Setting up the alarm threshold of the PDU input current will provide a safety margin. This will dramatically reduce the risk of upstream protection tripping due to:
Overload e.g. installation of new servers is routinely needed but they may exceed the rated power draw
Inrush current generated by simultaneous device start-up when installed in the same cabinet. Switched PDUs allow for sequencial start-up to prevent this.
Supervision and remote maintenance
70% of locked-up server issues are solved through a power reboot. Switched PDUs can achieve this task remotely to save time and money. MGE designed the Ampmeter PDU 12 NM 2U for dual power supply devices like blade servers. NM models provide 2 ports for connection of temperature / humidity sensors to simultaneously monitor the environment conditions at the bottom and top of the rack enclosure. Status, conditions and thresholds of NM versions can also be monitored and controlled from a web interface. These products can also be integrated with MGE Enterprise Power Manager supervision platform or any NMS by means of their SNMP protocol support.

Safety and Reliability
Safety of the PDU remote operation is ensured by:
Encryption and authentication (SSL/SSH)
Different administration levels allowing to lock some strategic outlets
"Out-of–band" administration to manage the PDU remotely even in case of a network failure
Cable lock system for inlet and outlets
Easy installation
Based on the PDU model, mounting options include horizontal (1 or 2U) or vertical (0U, labelled as "V").
