PATARA Communications & Electronics Limited was established in 1995 to provide an independent technical service facility for various electronic equipment covering the ICT and Industrial Electronics market. This service was initially offered to a select group of companies in Fiji . Since then the company’s activities have evolved into Consulting Services, Contracting, Distribution, and small-scale Manufacturing covering the Electrical, Industrial Automation and Control, Information Technology and Communications Industries.
PATARA has always strived to deliver cutting-edge cost-effective solutions to its customers. PATARA designed and supplied the Pacific's first (July 2000) fully switched Gigabit Ethernet Fibre Network Backbone and has continued to innovate as new technologies come to market. These include VoIP (Voice over IP) over satellite and terrestrial wireless links, High-speed Wireless Networking for wireless backbone and access applications, Remote System Management and XML-based UPS management amongst others.
The export market has also become an important part of business operations. PATARA has supplied cutting-edge, cost-effective technology solutions throughout the Pacific Islands, giving rise to our slogan “Technology Solutions for the Pacific” and we continuously seek to increase our regional business profile. As a result of our regional presence, PATARA is the Regional Distributor (Pacific Islands) for many of its core products.
Our customer base includes Corporates in the Wholesale and Retail trade, Financial Institutions, Government, Regional and International Organisations, IT companies, Telecommunications Carriers and Utilities, Education/Tertiary Institutions and the Manufacturing Industry.
